About Ethan

Ethan Morad

Ethan fell in love with music and the Clarinet in 5th grade and, ever since, has been pursuing his dream to join a major symphony orchestra. In pursuit of this dream, Ethan has stayed busy studying Physics, teaching Clarinet in band camps, and tutoring math and science.

Ethan holds a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory (Academic Honors), where he studied with Andrew Sandwick of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and a Bachelor of Music (Highest Distinction) from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Michael Wayne (BSO, retired) and Kenneth Grant. His performance experience spans orchestral, chamber, and solo repertoire across the full clarinet family — B♭, A, E♭, C, D, and Bass Clarinet. He has performed with the Kent-Blossom Chamber Orchestra, coached by members of the Cleveland Orchestra, and taught at Vienna Band Camp.

Alongside his music career, Ethan earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Rochester, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. He was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Pi Sigma, the Physics Honor Society — a recognition of academic excellence at the highest level.

As an educator, Ethan’s approach is rooted in the Socratic method: he believes that the most lasting learning happens when students discover answers through guided questioning rather than passive instruction. Whether working through a Brahms sonata or a multivariable calculus problem set, he meets each student where they are and builds from there. His 800+ tutoring sessions and perfect 5.0/5.0 rating reflect not just competence, but genuine care for student growth.

Based in Herndon, Virginia, Ethan is available for clarinet lessons and academic tutoring throughout the Northern Virginia area. He is willing to give clarinet lessons at his home or yours, and tutor in person or online.
